Roarhouse Unearths Port Melbourne with VOSS and PPHA

Come join in the percussive samba beats and rhythms in the Port Melbourne Neighbourhood Center Room (above Coles) only to then find yourself in a funny situation.

Roarhouse, along with PPHA and VOSS, are inviting you to a day of music and comedy delivered by proud, local residents that have graduated from percussive samba (lead by Neda Rahmani) and of course the latest comedy graduates (mentored by Justine Sless).

Food will be provided, along with duo check 1-2, featuring Van and Bianca. Be prepared to dust off those dancing shoes!

The gig kicks off at 12pm-2:30pm, on the 2nd of December 2016.

Roarhouse Unearths Pyrmont and Chelmsford For Homeless Persons Week

Roarhouse began breaking ground with the introduction of comedy workshops with a crew of enthusiastic participants and one gifted, resident, chai maker.  Soon our outdoor event was, ”all systems go”. The rain held out and the decorations remained intact and the paella and chai ran smoothly, thanks to RH volunteers. The large marquee, lighting and heater set up, fell into place, with enough time for a lunch break! The opening set was a jazzy sax and hooping number. The sound quality was great. Our comedy graduates had the audience in hysterics and our guest performers were equally great; Justine Sless (comedian), Taner Remzi (musician). Vardos (a Balkan Music Trio) closed the night and warmed our hearts with their jovial tunes from their wooden, stringed instruments. Thank you to Helen Booker & Leanne Vasilevska from PPHA and their volunteer staff and performers.  Together, we created a community awareness extravaganza …“With paella!”

Roar Lounge Pop-Up Stages

Roar house set up stage in May, at Alma House, and April, at The St. Kilda Drop In Center. It was a treat to witness a bunch of exciting and skilled performances and there was a lovely turn out of residence staff and visitors. Big thanks goes out to our audiences, volunteers and performers.
